World Economic Forum Davos 2025: Big Talk, Bigger Questions

The 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos just wrapped up, and if you’re wondering whether all the high-level chatter will actually lead to change… well, let’s just say we’ll see.

The IMF predicts 3.3% global growth for 2025, but with $100 trillion in global debt and rising interest rates, it’s more “cautiously optimistic” than a full-blown victory lap. Meanwhile, the Future of Jobs Report 2025 says AI could create 170 million jobs by 2030, but might also take 92 million away. So, let’s get those reskilling programs in gear—if they’re not already lost in a digital divide.

Keynotes from Day 2:
AI was the star of day two, with promises to revolutionize healthcare and trade. But can we really make sure everyone gets a seat at this high-tech table? And the TradeTech initiative might boost trade by 14% by 2040—but first, someone needs to agree on global trade policies. Good luck with that.

Day 3 Highlights:
Climate took center stage with UN Secretary-General AntĂłnio Guterres calling out fossil fuel companies for blocking progress. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Europe to toughen up against Russia, but can they unite when they can’t even agree on energy policies?

Keynote from Day 4:
Europe tried to keep pace with the U.S. and China. Donald Trump went after Europe’s regulations, while European leaders defended their eco-friendly approach. Christine Lagarde floated ideas to attract talent—but with Silicon Valley and China leading the charge, can Europe really keep up?

In the end, Davos 2025 had all the right conversations—but will it lead to anything meaningful, or was it just another round of "we’ll fix it someday" talk? Time will tell.
